The American University of Beirut (AUB) Library is looking for a talented candidate to fill in the position of Special Collections Librarian in its Archives and Special Collections department. The successful candidate will assist in overseeing and administering the resources, services, and operations pertaining to the AUB Library’s Special Collections and the University Archives. He/she will help support and enhance the accessibility, organization, housing, preservation and promotion of the University Special collections and Archives, in accord with current and anticipated teaching and scholarly trends.
The Special Collections Librarian reports to the Head of Archives and Special Collections.

Minimum Requirements:
- Master degree in Library and/or Information Science from an accredited university, and/or a graduate degree in a field related to the history of the Middle East, Arab and/or Islamic Studies. Per Lebanese working laws, non-Lebanese must have a PhD in any field.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
AUB, which was founded in 1866, has four main libraries: Jafet (Central Library), Saab Medical Library (which recently merged with the University Libraries), Science and Agriculture Library, and Engineering and Architecture Library. The Libraries, which employ over 25 professional librarians and 65 full-time support staff, have over one million volumes of books and periodicals and provide access to over 90,000 full-text journals and 350 electronic databases.
