Central University of Kerala (CU-Kerala) is one of the 16 Central Universities established under "The Central Universities Act, 2009. It started functioning at Kasaragod the northern region of Kerala. CU-Kerala's  Science Schools for Biological, Mathematical and Physical Sciences functions at the Riverside campus at Kanhangad, about 20 kilometres south of Vidyanagar.

Kasaragod is the most serene and peaceful region of Kerala, which is considered as Mangalore. The CU-K is not having a post of University Librarian. Hence the Deputy Librarian once appointed will be in fact the University Librarian with all the responsibilities of managing one of the largest university library and information system in India. He will be laying the foundation of the Knowledge management system of this reputed Central University. Qualification requirment is nominal like; Master's Degree in Library Science et 55% , Five years' experience as an Assistant Librarian or College Librarian etc only. .
