Our cloud operations team needs a committed support engineer to join its
operation. Once hired, you will enjoy the responsibility of a relatively
simple but large scale global virtual infrastructure for periods of time. The
role requires flexible shift work to ensure that the team as a whole can
provide 24-hour coverage with a follow the Sun environment. No "on call
required".

Please note this is a Sydney based role. you must be willing to relocate

With proven technical, problem-solving and analytical skills, you will draw
on your experience to understand and evaluate the need versus simply the
desire to implement changes within a system and take associated risks. You
must exhibit exceptional communication skills and be able to assist clients
globally.

On occasion, the environment can be high pressure, but much of the time the
role is one of careful observation and routine. That said, you must be
capable of identifying situations out of the ordinary and notifying peers and
supervisors in a timely manner.

As our Sydney based Cloud Support Engineer, you will be a part of an
engineering operations team that supports, maintains, and resolves highly
technical, complex issues of our virtual data center (Amazon Web Services).

What you need:

3-5+ years Unix - Linux REHL 4-6, Ubuntu. Centos, Administration, Support,
design

Experience with Windows Server 2008 / R2 including tasks & service management

Virtualisation: VMWare, Citrix, Xen

Windows scripting / automation (VBScript / PowerShell) including ability to
interpret and edit existing scripts

Databaes: IIS & MSSQL
Understand and troubleshoot networking protocols including TCP/IP, HTTPS and
DNS

Advantageous Skills:

Programming skills (i.e., PHP, Python, C#, Java, C++ )
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Understanding of VPN networks / IPSEC
