We have an exciting opportunity for you to bring your strategic direction and leadership skills to libraries and literacy in Saskatchewan.  Your experience with strategic planning, consultation processes and your excellent communication skills are vital for the Executive Director, Provincial Librarian position with the Saskatchewan Provincial Library & Literacy Office in the Ministry of Education. 

 

You will lead a team of three Directors and their staff to provide recommendations to the Assistant Deputy Minister of Education regarding public library policy, multitype library development and literacy strategies in the context of government, Ministry and stakeholder priorities.  You will represent the Ministry of Education on the Multitype Library Board and the Saskatchewan Information and Library Service Consortium Board.  This opportunity also requires you to work with Ministry colleagues and stakeholders and lead a team of employees to oversee the development of policy directions for existing and emerging province wide services and programs. 

 

Along with your Master's Degree in Library Science, you will have knowledge of library and literacy issues and strategies and previous government experience.
