CALYX is looking for an informal hourly "on demand" arrangement with an
experienced Linux systems administrator who loves open source.
CALYX information essentials provides information management services to the
enterprise, specialising in the areas of collections management and
librarianship. We provide consulting, data conversion, software installation
and hosting services.
Skillset:
(*) degree qualified
(*) Linux/debian
(*) Linux vserver
(*) LAMP
(*) Perl desirable but not essential
(*) FOSS distribution and installation methodology
Personal Attributes:
(*) a mature person who takes responsibility
(*) significant systems administration experience in complex environments
(*) open mind, ability to convey knowledge and mentor as required
(*) demonstrated ability in written and oral communications in English
(*) self-starter with a desire to self-educate and share knowledge
Working Arrangements:
(*) at call
(*) telecomputing, onsite would be rare
(*) occasional meetings at inner Sydney / Lower North Shore
(*) interacting with mature, experienced librarians and computing analysts
and developers
(*) possibility of further business involvement if desired
