The Richland County Public Library in Columbia, SC, USA, would like to announce three job vacancies:
1) “Community Outreach Manager” (Vac. #11CM-0916)
Location: Community Outreach Department, Main Library, 1431 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201
Job duties include: Designing and implementing library services and programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of the Richland County
community, including those of underserved populations; and creating and maintaining effective partnerships with community, governmental, and
other local and regional agencies and organizations.
Salary: $48,867 per year, plus salaried benefits.
Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree with major in an area relevant to community engagement and outreach to underserved populations,
from an accredited school. Preference may be given for a relevant master’s degree; or for an ALA-accredited MLIS degree. (Other master’s
degree may be considered if accompanied by significant experience.) Also, three years post-degree work experience (or with master’s degree, 2
years) in a community organization, or in a library or other comparable organization, including supervisory or project management experience.

2) “North Main Branch Manager” (Vac. #11NM-0919)
Location: North Main Branch Library, 5306 North Main St., Columbia, SC 29203
Job duties include: Leading a staff of 13 in effectively modeling enthusiasm and commitment to the Library’s mission, values, and strategic plan;
managing a library open to the public 66 hours per week, and carrying out all personnel duties for the branch.
Salary: $48,867 per year, plus salaried benefits.
Minimum qualifications include: ALA-accredited MLIS degree, plus two years of professional library experience.

3) “Information Services Librarian – General Reference” (Vac. #11IS-0915)
Location: General Reference Department, Main Library, 1431 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201
Job duties include: Providing reference and interlibrary loan services, readers advisory, bibliographic instruction, and other related patron services.
Salary: $39,136.50 per year, plus salaried benefits
Minimum qualifications: ALA-accredited MLIS degree.
