Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Establish and manage excellent publisher/vendor relationships
- Review and negotiate license agreements to reach favorable pricing and licensing terms
- Maintain data in the e-resource management system and discovery layer
- Remedy access problems and violations or breaches of contract
- Work closely with members of Resource Services (Collection Management and Technical Services) and subject librarians to coordinate trials, acquire new e-resources and maintain access
- Collect and analyze usage data from local and vendor/publisher sources and create reports to support decision-making
- Keep current with and contribute to the profession through publication, committees, or other service
- Serve as liaison to one or more academic departments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program or a master's degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
- Two years of experience in an academic or research library setting, working with vendors and publishers in acquisitions or e-resource management.
- Familiarity with copyright, fair use and other intellectual property issues as these pertain to e-resources and license agreements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated initiative and flexibility.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in an organization which embraces innovation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with negotiating electronic resource licenses.
- Proficiency in commonly used technologies and applications including an electronic resource management system, a discovery layer and advanced functions of Microsoft Office.
- Broad understanding of technical services operations in an academic library.
Salary and Rank: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is appointed to a Library Faculty rank as established by Wake Forest University. Rank at appointment is based on the successful applicant's experience and relevant credentials.
