[IFLA-LPD] RE: Quick question re dyslexia

Dear Karen,

 

ONCE's statutes don't allow us to serve persons with other disabilities than visual impairment, so we don't provide services to persons with dyslexia. That is why ONCE created the ONCE Foundation, which does provide services to persons with any other disability, especially persons with reduced mobility. The problem is that – as it is the case in many other countries - dyslexia is not officially recognized as a disability in Spain, and therefore they are not entitled to apply for the services provided by our Foundation. The seem to be terribly organized also, so it's difficult for us to help them through our Foundation.

Are you serving people with perceptual disabilities such as dyslexia?

 

If so, what percentage of the people you serve have perceptual disabilities such as dyslexia, and what percentage are blind, visually impaired or physically disabled?
