POSITION TITLE: Circulation Manager
PERSONNEL STATUS: Exempt, Full-time, Regular
DEPARTMENT: Library
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Associate Director, the incumbent will be responsible for the efficient and effective administration of circulation operations for the library, including circulation personnel management, financial services for billing operations, building security, daily Retriever Learning Center operations, and daily circulation services. Specific duties include: directly supervising four library technicians; indirectly supervising, one security officer, four library technicians, and student assistants; working the circulation desk and covering building opening and closing as needed, working collegially with other librarians and staff; representing the library in campus and state-wide contexts relevant to responsibilities; and performing other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of progressively responsible supervisory experience with a proven record of performance management and accountability. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to think critically and analytically; the ability to study problems and develop well-reasoned and supported analyses and solutions (e.g. statistics, graphs, persuasive texts, etc.); and proven organizational skills. Knowledge of the principles and organization of libraries strongly preferred. Financial accounting knowledge desired. The successful candidate will be well versed in personnel management and prepared to work well with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds who are employees, faculty, staff, or students of the University, or from the community.
SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
