Salary: Minimum Annual Salary: $40,000 plus benefits (Benefits include health insurance w/premiums paid, employer-funded retirement plan, & paid annual and sick leave)

Position Description: Minot State University seeks an energetic, innovative service-oriented individual for the position of Cataloging and Government Documents Librarian. Library and Information Science professionals who are interested in providing cataloging in a wide variety of formats including but not limited to monographs, serials, e-resources and other items are encouraged to apply. Also, the Cataloging and Government Documents Librarian will be responsible for Federal and State Documents. Additional duties include regularly scheduled hours at the reference desk and some collection development responsibilities. This position reports directly to the Library Director.

Selection Criteria: A Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program; strong commitment to quality cataloging; experience in print and electronic resource cataloging; demonstrated working knowledge of cataloging rules, and tools such as MARC, AACR2, LCSH, LCC, and familiarity with RDA and authority control; experience with OCLC Bibliographic Utility/Connexion interface and ILS systems (preference ExLibris Aleph); familiarity with cataloging issues and standards, metadata standards, best practices, emerging trends in the cataloging field; knowledge and familiarity with Federal Depository guidelines (FDLP); demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds; and proven supervisory experience. Must demonstrate the ability to deal effectively and interact positively with various types of people. A criminal history background check must be satisfied prior to employment.
