[LIBJOBS] Knowledge Manager - Hong Kong

ComplianceAsia is looking for a Knowledge Manager to join our Hong Kong office.  This challenging position offers an opportunity for the right person to engage in a wide variety of activities to support the information needs of our team of financial industry compliance specialists.

The Knowledge Manager will be involved in continuation of our full suite of document and knowledge storage, retention and retrieval practices.  A strong IT background is preferred.  A library science qualification is also preferred.  Strong English language skills are essential.  Experience with the following technologies is recommended:

•  Linux, Mac and Windows Operating systems.
  
•  LAMPP  (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl) applications.
  
•  Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
  
•  HTML/XHTML and CSS.

Duties

• The Knowledge Manager will:
• Maintain a collection of precedents and templates for commonly used documents.
• Manage the company's wiki and other internal resources.
• Develop and maintain internal company databases.
• Manage the content of the company's website.
• Provide research and reference support to subject matter experts.
• Advise on the storage and disposition of print and electronic records.
• Provide training on in-house and external resources to coworkers.
• Periodically assess, evaluate, and report on the information needs of coworkers.

Required Qualifications

• A degree in Library Science, Information Management or related subject.
• Analytical and efficient reference interview skills.
• Friendly, approachable and patient manner.
• Native or highly fluent English language skills.
• Knowledge of the following technologies:
• Linux, Mac and Windows Operating systems.
• LAMPP  (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP and Perl) applications.
• Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• HTML/XHTML and CSS
• Understanding of basic web design.
• Experience designing and developing databases.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities.
• Excellent search skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years experience in a similar setting.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating information needs and/or implementing recommendations in a business setting.
• Experience navigating the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and the Monetary Authority of Singapore's websites.
• Knowledge of the following technologies:
• Salesforce, 37signals' Basecamp, Wordpress, Xataface, PHPWord, ListGarden, JavaScript, HTML5, XML, MediaWiki
• Experience maintaining a Virtual Private Server (VPS).
• Experience migrating electronic resources from one server to another.
