Wouldn't you like to live in the city ranked as #1 for Best Value by Kiplinger? Or how about the #8 Best City for Familes (Parenting magazine)? And don't forget Forbes #5 Best City for Young Professionals! Omaha, NE is a great place to live, work and play. With a low cost of living, low unemployment, and a thriving music, arts, and dining scene, Omaha is a real treasure.
Omaha Public Library is seeking innovative and creative individuals who are at the beginning or early stages of their professional career to join our team as a Librarian 1. We currently have two vacancies for Youth Services Librarians working in our branch libraries. In these positions you will develop and deliver engaging programs to kids and teens, work with schools and childcare providers in your service area to reach new audiences, and assist with managing a busy branch library. We expect and deliver the very best in service, and seek individuals who consistently go above and beyond expectations.
This is a great time to join a rapidly growing library system. We have recently completed a new vision and strategic plan, and are embarking on a very exciting journey. Our 12 libraries are well-used by our communities, and we continue to reach new audiences every year. Our passionate staff love their work, and we look forward to embracing new ideas and perspectives.
We have a strong commitment to diversity, and welcome applicants from under-represented groups.
Please note that all eligible applicants are kept on file for one year. Additional Librarian 1 positions that become available during the next 12 months will be exclusively hired from this file, so all applicants are welcome regardless of your specialization or area of interest. You will be asked to indicate your interests on the online application.
