Are you interested in making a difference for public library service at a provincial level?  Do you want to hone your skills in board development, training,  and strategic planning?  If so, the Provincial Library and Literacy Office, a branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, is hiring a Public Library Coordinator who will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering trustee and staff training, providing policy advice, and facilitating strategy development at the provincial level.

 

In this role, you will monitor public library and local government developments, review legislation, and connect with other parts of the Ministry and government.  You will use data and performance metrics to analyze library system performance and community needs.  Working closely with public libraries, you will utilize your strong negotiating and facilitative skills to build partnerships and achieve consensus on shared initiatives. 

 

Knowledge for this position is usually gained through a Masters of Library Science or an ALA-approved equivalent.  This education should be combined with knowledge of public libraries, nonprofit board governance, and the local government context in Saskatchewan.
