Director, Encore Sales & Strategy

We are looking for an organized strategic thinker to drive the business success, sales, retention, and results-oriented product development and direction for the Encore Discovery Platform and Encore Synergy Article Discovery solution. This position will oversee the development, messaging, sales, implementation and support of the Encore family of products and will be tasked with working with all departments to ensure the continued success of Encore. Discovery is a multi-faceted product area in constant transition, which requires an individual able to respond to multiple needs at once and to prioritize and recommend immediate and future development strategies to management. 

Principal Responsibilities:

·         Develop a strategic and comprehensive product plan covering all aspects of library Discovery, including article and database discovery, digital content, catalog functionality, and social features.

·         Identify and drive market needs and product requirements working with Product Managers to assess, prioritize, and manage product deliverables.

·         Work closely with Sales on product support, demonstrations, messaging and strategy with the goal of driving demand and increasing share for Innovative Interfaces’ product lines. This position is also responsible for ensuring retention of existing customers through continual product evolution.

·         Work closely with Service organization to ensure customer satisfaction with implementation and ongoing support interactions.

·         Responsible for business development activities related to Discovery product strategy. 

·         Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with customers, vendors and/or corporate partners.

·         Act as key resource to marketing organization to articulate a clear, singular product vision and primary collaborator on tactical marketing program development.

·         Other activities including, representing Innovative Interfaces at trade shows and library forums and other committees; act as strategic peer using social media and other communication channels.

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

           

·         Capable of performing at a “corporate level.”

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as the position requires engaging with customers, partner vendors, competitors, and with all departments within the company. 

·         Master of Library Science and/or substantive experience in libraries or the library automation marketplace. 

·         Demonstrated understanding of the Library and Internet markets.

·         Solid understanding of Innovative’s competitors and competitive offerings.

·         Strong verbal and written skills.
