The Circulation Supervisor provides management and oversight of all aspects of Miller Center Circulation services in Learning Resources Services (LRS). The library’s Circulation unit includes but is not limited to the following services: circulation of library materials (books, media, equipment, laptops, etc.), Interlibrary Loan, reserves, and stacks maintenance. Additionally this person is responsible for oversight of building operations on evenings and weekends. This manager directs and supervises employees of the Miller Center Circulation team, in a collective bargaining environment, to provide superior service and support to the students, faculty, staff, administration and community members that utilize library Circulation services at St. Cloud State University.
Salary: $ 20.89-$ 30.28 hourly, $ 43,618-$ 63,225 annually
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or completion of a college-level library technology program.
-Experience working with an integrated library system.
-Knowledge of basic public desk and telephone etiquette.
-Three years’ experience working in a library, including at least one year in a supervisory position.
-Knowledge of library arrangement, services, and policies.
-Knowledge of library terminology, tools, methods, and procedures.
-Knowledge of basic office practices and procedures.
-Knowledge of use of standard office equipment including scanners, computers, calculators, photocopiers, etc.
-Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision.
-Skill to provide clear oral and written direction.
-Skill to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with a variety of individuals, including students, university personnel, and members of the community.
-Skill to maintain and complete accurate reports and records of Circulation activities.
-Skill to analyze situations and take accurate and effective actions.
-Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
-Ability to exercise sound judgment in interpreting established library policies and procedures when dealing with patrons.
-Ability to provide accurate, up to date training for unit employees.
Preferred Qualification
-American Library Association accredited MLS or related degree.
-Experience working with the Aleph integrated library system.
-Experience working in an academic library.
-Experience working in circulation or interlibrary loan.
-Knowledge of budgets and expense management.
-Knowledge of emerging trends and technologies in circulation and interlibrary loan.
-Experience with project management.
-Experience supervising in a collective bargaining environment.
