Nursing Liaison Librarian
This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Head, Library Research Services. The incumbent will be the Library's liaison for the newly-created Faculty of Nursing and will work in collaboration with the library services at SIAST (Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology) to deliver services to the Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing (SCBsCN) program (see http://www.uregina.ca/nursing/).
The Nursing Liaison Librarian will develop and deliver instruction sessions (in-person, online, and other means), develop the Library's collection and related information resources, and will provide specialized reference service and research consultations by appointment with faculty and students. It is anticipated the service provided by the Nursing Liaison Librarian will be integral to the Nursing faculty who are committed to embedding information literacy skills instruction throughout the curriculum. The Nursing program will include a substantial distance education component, requiring the Nursing Liaison Librarian to deliver information services and instruction to these students as well.
The Nursing Liaison Librarian will work collaboratively with library colleagues on a range of issues including, but not limited to, instruction, collections development, distance education, emerging technologies, policy formulation, and implementation of the Library's Strategic Plan.
Requirements Master's degree from an American Library Association accredited program in information/library science. A minimum of two years of professional experience in the area of nursing or health-sciences librarianship. Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in instruction and reference delivery, and collections development.
