Director of Academic Sales, North America

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual who can create sales strategies for increasing opportunities, wins, and revenue within the North American Academic Library market.  This position reports directly to the VP of North American Sales.  Preferred location is in Emeryville, CA headquarters.

 

Responsibilities:

• Calling on and building relationships with Academic Libraries nationally.
• Influencing decision makers at all levels of an organization by delivering sales presentations to current and prospective clients.
• Maintaining current and accurate data in the CRM application.
• Providing frequent and regular status updates to VP Sales, North America.
• Arranging regular meetings and presentations with Academic Library management staff to fulfill sales strategy and goals.
• Contributing to the development of sales materials; including pitch books, fact sheets and web content.

 

Qualifications:

• Strong desire and ability to identify prospects, generate a qualified pipeline, cultivate and manage sales opportunities, as well as close sales.
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships in the library services market.
• An orientation towards strong client service skills with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities is a must.
• Intelligent, motivated, and competitive with strong communication skills.
• Strong closing skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities.
• Ability to employ creative approaches to succeed and problem-solve.
• BA/BS degree required.
• MLS/MLIS preferred.
• Ability to travel extensively.

 

Salary / Benefits:

• Salary commensurate with experience
