Information International Associates, Inc. (IIa), a small, innovative, and growing company, seeks an innovative, energetic and enthusiastic lead at the AEDC Technical Library at Arnold Air Force Base, TN, near Tullahoma, TN.
Overview:
The AEDC Library is a technical and engineering library serving the aerospace ground test mission of Arnold Air Force Base. The library team lead is responsible for ensuring that the Library provides all required library/information services while maintaining a focus on staying relevant to the base mission, engaging with the users of the library, and seeking new ways to serve the base population and its mission. The team lead will be the primary point of contact for all library technical services, for both AEDC users and external professional contacts and vendors. The team lead will work closely with the AEDC Library Advisory Council, to facilitate communication with the library users and foster advocacy for the library. This position will oversee a collection of approximately 10,000 technical reports, 30,000 monographs, and many online resources.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and uses a strategic plan to ensure personnel have the resources to provide the services required to accomplish the changing AEDC mission.
- Operates the Library according to professional library standards.
- Maintain all library electronic resources, including the ILS, internal website, and all subscribed content.
- Primary provider of all technical reference services for AEDC staff.
- Coordinates the AEDC Library Advisory Council.
- Catalogs technical reports produced at AEDC, and ensures current and historical AEDC technical documents are accessible.
- Selects, trains, supervises, and coordinates staff so that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Markets library services and demonstrates Air Force is getting best services for its money.
- Prepares, justifies, and analyzes library budget and controls expenditures within budget.
- Monitors library contracts to ensure vendors provide services as required.
- Serves as custodian for the classified collection in accordance with security regulations.
Qualifications (Required):
- Masters degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited college or university.
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in library management
- Familiarity with HTML, Sirsi, and science and engineering reference sources preferable
- Willingness to learn and driven to provide excellent service
- Demonstrated interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skill.
- Demonstrated ability to manage both professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.
