Health Sciences Librarian
The Florida International University Libraries seeks an energetic, user-focused librarian for the position of Health Sciences Librarian. The position is responsible for outreach, information and instructional services, user support, and collection development for public health, nursing and health sciences disciplines for the Green Library.
Position Description:
The Health Sciences Librarian is a member of the Information & Research Services Department and serves as faculty liaison to the programs of the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The successful candidate will provide general, specialized, and virtual reference and research assistance, participate in the library's instruction program, contribute to collection management activities, and participate in other activities and projects of the libraries.
Librarians are expected to participate in professional development, research, and service activities to meet the Libraries' and University's requirements for promotion.
The position reports to the Head of Information & Research Services in the Green Library.

Required Qualifications:
• MLS from an ALA accredited program or equivalent.
• Strong service commitment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines in a service oriented environment
• Understanding of emerging technologies and their applications in an academic library environment, specifically web development and multi-media applications
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt well to change
Preferred Qualifications:
• Academic background in health sciences or related disciplines
• Instructional, teaching, or training experience in a classroom environment
• Reference experience
Rank/Salary:
Commensurate with educational background and experience.
