We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to join the Union Database Services Unit of the Library Services Department. This unit is specialized for the implementation and use of the INN-Reach product. An Innovative flagship product, INN-Reach seamlessly connects multiple library automation systems and allows patrons from one library to request and borrow materials belonging to another library.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide implementation and consultation services for new and existing INN-Reach systems including database profiling, system configuration, and product options.
- Manage a variety of implementation projects and support issues on a daily basis.
- Build and maintain relationships with customer project leads from the beginning of implementation and extending throughout support services.
- Provide telephone and e-support for INN-Reach customers using Innovative software on large multi-user UNIX systems.
- Work with customers with varying levels of technical expertise to effectively pursue and resolve issues in an expedient manner.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, document, and resolve application issues reported by customers using UNIX and proprietary utilities.
- Test software fixes and evaluate INN-Reach software development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MLS or other relevant degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in at least one of the following areas:
1. Library circulation department
2. Library technical services
3. Software support or help desk
- Strong commitment to service.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and swiftly adjust priorities.
- Familiarity with automated library systems and information technologies.
- Facility for learning new software.
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with excellent follow-through.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Present, learn, and apply new technologies.
DESIRED:
- Fluency in Spanish, Arabic or Mandarin languages.
- Previous experience working with an Innovative system and/or the INN-Reach product.
- Previous experience working in a UNIX environment.
