An ALA accredited MLS or equivalent is necessary, library work or internship experience is necessary, international work experience is preferred, Russian language skills are helpful.
Programs in science and engineering are a main focus of Nazarbayev University. English is the language of instruction, although Russian and Kazakh are widely used in university written documents and in Astana. English is generally spoken in the library, by both staff and students. The faculty is primarily international, with a significant majority from the U.K. and U.S.A. In addition to core programs in science, engineering, English, social sciences, and humanities, several centers of research advance knowledge in: Education policy, life sciences, energy resources, and Kazakh language and culture. The library provides resources for a wide range of student, faculty, and research needs.
