2 | Key and functional tasks of the department | Assisting patrons in borrowing and returning library materials; Assisting students in borrowing textbooks for a semester/academic year; Organizing open access to library materials; Maintaining the safety and integrity of library materials; Working on increasing information literacy of library patrons; Working with library patrons, organizing events and exhibitions; Providing patrons with assistance in using electronic resources; Performing reference services; Researching new methods and technologies used in local and foreign academic libraries and implementing them into practice. Collaborating with teachers from School of Science and Technology, School of Engineering, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Preparatory School. |
3 | Key and functional tasks of the position | Working at the circulation desk in accordance with the library schedule. Issuing and returning library materials using the library automated system. Working with periodicals. Assisting librarians in library collection placement and movement. Assisting librarians in updating library web-portal and library pages in social networks. Assisting librarians in reference work. Digitization of library collections. Assisting in other library projects as required. |

6 | Desired professional experience (duration, sphere, and other) | Candidate should be a Nazarbayev University student with good academic standing and no history of administrative violations. Students from other universities may apply provided they have excellent knowledge of English and work experience in an English-speaking country. |
7 | Professional knowledge and personal qualities | Responsibility, attention to detail, good communication skills. Some prior knowledge of automated library systems, library systems of classification or electronic databases is an asset. |
8 | Proficiency in languages, including state language, (list of languages) | English (excellent), Russian, Kazakh. |
9 | Computer skills: | Advanced computer user skills (Windows, MS Office, Internet). |
10 | Final date of CV submission: | Until position is filled. Important: students who do not have prior experience of working or volunteering at Nazarbayev University Library will need to submit a recommendation letter from the Department of Student Affairs (for NU students) or a similar department (for students of other universities). |
