The Role:
The role of IT Infrastructure Specialist (Network Services) is responsible
for the delivery of high quality services to NICTA's research and development
environment distributed across many campuses where world leading research is
conducted and developed for the benefit and wealth of Australia.
About You:
Are you looking for a challenging work environment where your knowledge and
skills from the past 5 ? 10 years can be utilised and developed further to
provide agile service delivery of network services, support systems and
infrastructure?
You will bring a skill set to this role that will allow you to gain an
immediate understanding of an existing network service's platform implemented
from a range of open source projects including, but not limited to:
Linux distributions Debian and Ubuntu,
BIND 9,
Exim 4,
ISC's DHCP v3
These services are enhanced by a number of modified support applications
based on Perl, Python, Bash and CRON.

This technology start up company, based in the Sydney CBD, is seeking a
talented DevOps Engineer to assist with a Puppet implementation. You will be
working closely with an experienced Systems Engineer where you will be using
your detailed level of Linux and Puppet knowledge to see through the
successful deployment. The role will initially be on a 6 month engagement,
with the potential for further work, and is paying a highly competitive daily
rate.
Key responsibilities:
?Build, deploy, and implementation
?Writing Puppet manifests
?Managing the Cloud infrastructure
?Scripting/automation tasks
?Upper level Systems Administration
?Troubleshooting
Skills and Experience required:
?Strong Linux Systems Administration experience - Red Hat, Ubuntu, CentOS
?Puppet experience - essential
?Any AWS/Cloud experience - highly desirable
?Monitoring experience - desirable
?Industry certifications - RHCE, Puppet training - desirable
?Strong verbal and written communication skills - a must
