The Provincial Library and Literacy Office of Saskatchewan requires an energetic and highly motivated professional librarian to manage its Multitype Library Development Unit. Reporting to the Director, Library Accountability and Administration, this position develops and implements strategic plans, in consultation with the Multitype Library Board, for development of a multitype library system that extends library capacity through greater cooperation among all types of libraries and information providers across Saskatchewan.

 

This position also manages the Saskatchewan Libraries web site (http://www.lib.sk.ca) and provides professional analysis and leadership in the development of province-wide e-library content and services, and digitization programs.  As part of the Provincial Library management team, this position provides analysis and assessment of library and information policy issues to the Ministry of Education and formulates recommendations and policy alternatives.

 

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a university degree at the Master's level in library science and related work experience.
