The William H. Hannon Library at Loyola Marymount University seeks an energetic, user-oriented public services librarian to serve as Reference and Instruction Librarian for Business. This individual will provide high-quality reference, instruction, collection development, and outreach services to the LMU Community, with a particular emphasis on LMU’s College of Business Administration. The successful candidate must have a degree, background, or interest in business, accounting, economics, or a related field and be willing to continue upgrading their knowledge, skills, and abilities. This librarian serves as the lead provider of information literacy instruction and web-based research material in support of undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Business Administration. Additionally, this librarian works on the Information Desk, participates in virtual reference, and assists with Reference Department projects, assessment, and decision-making. The Reference and Instruction Librarian for Business reports to the Head of Reference and Instructional Services.

Required:
- Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited graduate program or related field
· Undergraduate or graduate degree, certificate, background, or demonstrated interest in business, accounting, economics, or a related field.
· Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral). Good attentive listening skills are essential as well as a strong user-service orientation.
· Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of basic reference sources and reference practices.
· Demonstrated knowledge in the area of library instruction and information literacy.
· Proficient in Mac and Windows operating systems and commonly used productivity software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
· Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Preferred:
· Two years of experience providing business-related reference and instruction services in an academic library setting.
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with business, financial or technical information resources, including tools such as Research Insight, Euromonitor, Business Insights: Global, and ABI/Inform.
· Knowledge in the area of building, managing, and assessing business collections.
