Santa Clara County Library District invites applications for the position of Community Librarian. Community Librarians plan, organize, direct and control activities and operations of a Community Library in one of the cities served by the Santa Clara County Library District. Santa Clara County Library District is well-funded and heavily used by the community, and is one of eleven libraries nationwide to be included in the top ten libraries in its population category in every published edition of Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings Survey. The Library includes seven community libraries and one branch in addition to administrative offices, bookmobile service and a literacy program. Serving a population of 412,000 residents in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Library circulates over 9.7 million items per year to 3.2 million visitors. In addition to responsibilities to manage an individual Community Library, Community Librarians also play a key role in forming connections between the community and the Library, as well as participating on the management team for the Santa Clara County Library District.
