Assistant Librarian (Information Services) (PR381/11-12)
The Information Services Section of the University Library seeks an Assistant Librarian to join their dynamic team in delivering a suite of ever-evolving and highly responsive services to users. Reporting to the Head of Information Services, the appointee will be responsible for providing high quality reference, research and instructional services in a variety of modes. Special projects, liaison roles with faculty, and a wide variety of public service duties will be integral to the position. Shift duties during evenings/weekends/holidays are required.
Applicants must possess an MLS or equivalent qualification, and be able to demonstrate current knowledge of academic library resources, systems, services and trends. He/She must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively with people inside and outside of the Library. Excellent communication skills in English are required; additionally, proficiency in Chinese is highly desirable. Academic library experience, advanced technology skills, and/or instructional expertise is highly desirable; and, genuine enjoyment of teaching and supporting students and researchers is essential.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
