| Description: Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success. West Chester University of Pennsylvania seeks a highly qualified and experienced individual for the position of Assistant Vice President for International Programs.
The successful candidate will have an earned master's (required) or doctorate degree (preferred) and 3 years of direct experience in international operations and 3 years of management experience. Preference will be given to candidates who have significant experience with INS regulations governing foreign visitors to the U.S., U.S. State Department policies governing travel abroad, and knowledge of systems of higher education in other regions of the world. The successful applicant will have an established record documenting extensive international experience, excellent organization and communications skills, and a firm commitment to diversity and equal opportunity goals.
The Assistant Vice President will promote the internationalization of West Chester University by providing leadership for existing international educational enterprises, develop innovative new initiatives for international activities that are consistent and integrated with the University's strategic plan and academic mission, and serve as the institution's primary representative to the global community. S/he will seek mutually beneficial collaborations with worldwide educational institutions with a focus on developing opportunities for faculty and student study abroad and exchange programs. This position reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs/Provost and serves as the principal advisor on all international issues and collaborates with other divisions, updates institutional policies related to international activities, and develops programs and services to support the institution's international student population. Primary responsibilities include: · Provide strategic leadership, management, and oversight to the office of International Programs and associated programs. · Identify strategic opportunities and implement initiatives to recruit and retain international students and form partnerships related to international programs. · Provide budget oversight, resource allocation, and risk management · Facilitate the integration of international students into the campus community by assisting with visa and immigration issues and providing orientation, assistance, information, and referral to international students regarding financial, personal, cultural, and academic concerns · Develop programs and services aimed at raising awareness of global and international issues to prepare all students to thrive in a global environment. · Interface with State System of Higher Education (PA) on international issues.
Salary range is $85,434 - $113,912 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits package included.
