Engineering Liaison Librarian & Innovation Support Services Functional Lead
The University of Minnesota Libraries invites applications for an innovative and proactive engineering librarian. We seek applicants who have subject expertise and technology skills, possess an understanding of research processes in the physical sciences, and embrace lifelong learning.
This position, part of the Physical Sciences and Engineering (PSE) department of the University Libraries' Research and Learning Division, serves as library liaison to designated academic departments and research centers affiliated with the University's College of Science and Engineering (CSE). It supports the instructional, research and outreach activities of these units, forging relationships with faculty, students and researchers offering services that respond to the University's Strategic Plan.
Required qualifications include: an American Library Association accredited Master's degree in Library/Information Science or equivalent combination of advanced degree and relevant experience; evidence of program development or project management skills; and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and colleagues in a research-intensive environment. Experience developing library programs and services for Makerspaces, including 3D printing and/or other fabrication technologies is preferred.
