New Media Center Manager
Higher Education Associate
Reporting to the Director of Academic Instructional Technologies. Duties include:
Supervise and manage the professional staff assigned to the New Media Center (118 PC student computing facility), Library Lower Level Computing Area (85 seat student computing facility) and the Library Café (55 PC 24hr student computing facility located in Whitehead Hall). Professional staff includes the Library Café Services Coordinator (HEa), Café Evening and Weekend Manager (ISa) and the NMC Evening & Weekend Manager (CLT).
Responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of the CA/SA and FWS supporting staff assigned to the New Media Center, and Library Lower Level Computing Facility and the Library Café. This involves managing a TS budget exceeding $200,000.
Coordinates the public computing policies of the NMC and Library Café and Library Lower Level Computing facility. Creates policy for these public computing facilities.
Assists in the management of the College’s digital multimedia delivery system, a system that distributes digital media not only within the Library but also throughout the campus, CUNY, and beyond.
Provide and support a broad array of software and other applications that support the College’s academic, curricular, and distance education initiatives.
Supervise the management and scheduling of the 6 group audio/viewing rooms and the Woody Tanger Auditorium ( 144 seats - $500,000 audio/visual equipment).
Supervise the management of the College’s extensive collection of audio and video equipment that allows for individual listening and viewing throughout the Library and the campus.
Manage the delivery of a broad spectrum of digitized material (DVD, teleconferenced events, the Library’s archival collections, and streaming formats) to all points within the new Library, as well as the campus as a whole. This includes service to desktops, group viewing rooms, and classrooms throughout the campus.
Ensure that the New Media Center’s equipment is properly maintained, inventoried, and secured.
Manage the Library’s Laptop Loan program.
Recommend and order new and replacement equipment for the Center.
