Binghamton University Libraries, Binghamton, New York, are currently accepting applications for two tenure-track library faculty positions – Digital Projects Librarian and Engineering Librarian. Binghamton University is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and is located in upstate New York. BU Libraries seek enthusiastic, collegial, and service-oriented librarians to serve as an integral part of the Libraries' team in providing high quality library resources and services for the BU community. Digital Projects Librarian
The Digital Projects Librarian will manage digitization projects for the Libraries, upload items into the digital preservation system (currently Rosetta by Ex Libris), manage workflows and conduct quality checks, and prepare items for retrieval and display via the Libraries' discovery layer (Primo by Ex Libris). The incumbent will also collaborate with library staff to create digital exhibits. Required qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS, project management experience, knowledge of and experience with current trends in digital preservation, digital image file formats, and file format conversion and related software including experience using image editing applications.
Engineering Librarian
The Engineering Librarian will develop and manage the print and digital collections in support of teaching and research in Engineering and Applied Science; provide reference and instructional services; and act as a liaison to departments within the Thomas J. Watson School of Engineering. Required qualifications include an ALA-accredited MLS, coursework in engineering or the sciences or experience in an engineering field/environment, and a strong commitment to service and professional development.
