Public Service Librarian
Research Library & Archives, Export-Import Bank of the United States
Responsibilities
· Responsible for day-to-day operations of the reference desk & physical library space.
· Provide reference and research assistance, including document delivery, due diligence searches, and running news and research alerts.
· Provide assistance on digitization projects using the OCLC CONTENTdm Digital Asset Management System.
· Handle library technical services including copy cataloging, circulation and book and other material processing.
· Oversee and handle Interlibrary Loan functions.
· Assist in creating and maintaining an archival copy of the Bank-wide daily news clips.
· Assist Project Liaison Librarian with compilation of Country Briefing Books, library training events and other projects as necessary.
· Perform reference tasks to assist senior research librarians as necessary.
· Assist with maintaining Library data systems and machines, including the Bloomberg Professional Terminal, photocopiers and scanner.
· Assist with organizing and operating major annual fundraising event.
Experience and Qualifications
· Desired: recent graduate with new Master’s in Library Science (MLS), student working on an MLS degree, or some library or research experience.
· Experience working with various functions of an Integrated Library System including Interlibrary Loan (ILL), circulation, and cataloging modules.
· Experience in prioritizing projects, meeting deadlines and contributing effectively within a small group environment.
· Team oriented with excellent interpersonal communications skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the library and with library clientele.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, information intense environment where attention to detail is critical to the successful completion of the Bank’s mission.
· Self-starter who follows detailed instructions well and is able to work independently.
